Thicker borders have always been a preference of ours. A clear visual division between every packet makes the movements more distinct – and movement is what cardistry is all about.
We chose to make STRIPE resemble a deck of standard poker playing cards. We see cardistry as the ability to push an everyday object to its creative and visual limits, so maintaining the relatability is important to us.
We've always dreamt about reflecting our passion for cardistry through a unique deck of playing cards – and this is what STRIPE is.
INTRODUCTION
Dealers Grip duo. Oliver Sogard & Tobias Levin, have been doing cardistry for almost a decade. As a cardist your only tool is a deck of cards, so the idea of designing our own came naturally.
Although it might sound cliché, we really wanted our cards to stand out. They had to both represent our style of cardistry and what we admire aesthetically. The final product would have to be something we would use every day.
After countless attempts at coming up with a design, dozens of prototypes and several color ideas, we finally settled on a concept that we absolutely loved in the summer of 2015. STRIPE Playing Cards are the result. This deck of cards is the materialisation of who we are as cardists and what we love in terms of design.
